Video Rough Cut
We had some technical difficulties whilst making the rough cut. Due to the start being in stop motion the rest of the footage was out of ratio with the still images. This meant a lot of the footage doesn't fit. It was often hit or miss with the size of the footage as we thought we had fixed it but some of the footage still didn't fit with the ratio. We had to use the stills camera to film. We always made sure to have the settings the same so we are unsure as to why the size of the footage is so hit and miss. However it does have some positives such as it fits the genre with the types of shots being mirrored and the coloured filter over certain shots.

Website Rough Cut
The website is very bare at the moment as it is a very rough cut. There is a lot of missing content that will need to go into the site, such as the video, band images, articles and more background information. The overall aesthetic of the site will also have to be edited as it doesn't match the digipak. The pages all link and the buttons all work but it doesn't relate to the other content that we are creating which is a major downfall of the site.
We are hoping to have a product something like this in terms of the content on the yes site. We want to create backgrounds and have band images within the site a lot like this one. Its clear that the site has a ways to go before it reaches what we want it to be.

Digipak Rough draft
The first complete rough digipak. The design of the album cover is very fits within the genre that we selected as it includes bright contrasting colours and unusual themes. We decided to focus on the use of art on the digipak as the psychedelic rock albums that we looked at tend not to have photography of the band. The bright upbeat colours contrast with the dark underlying themes of graveyards, skeletons and possible depression. It also has some intertextuality with the tree and the skeleton. The digipak reflects Caravan's In The Land Of Grey And Pink witch uses bright colours to create a fantasy style scene showing run down houses and building but in a stylised landscape that counters the potential dark
themes.
We got peer feedback from a Nikki Letts on her thoughts of the Digipak

Digipak 11th November
Part 2 of the creative process within the video I create the right fold and inside right fold. I use the same tools as I did in the last video. The images I create are more concept art for songs that would feature in the album they are based on song titles which. It one I create is bones which the skull coming out of the grave to sing.

Digipak editing 10th November
Time lapse video of the creation of the digipak. In the video I complete the front and back cover and disc holder. I mainly used the brush tool and text tool.
As you can see the idea has changed from the original flat plan as the idea for this Digipak stemmed from a front cover I created from the website that would go with an older album (Then there weren't three). My group thought that it was a very good piece of art that should be used as the main digipak and so the idea grew from that an I went with the theme of the colourful clouds and simplistic nature. I drew up and updated flat plan that can be seen in previous posts.

Filter test

Whilst editing the video we looked back at psychedelic music videos that we draw inspiration from and noticed the use of coloured filters so we thought before we use them that we would first test them. I find that the darker filters work better as its clearer to see that there is a coloured filter being placed on top of the image. I feel like it fits the genre and should be incorporated into the video one way or another.

Problem Part 2
We are still having issues with the ratio. We have tried changing it on the camera but is doesn't seem to work. We have found a way to change the ratio in premier but there still seems to be issues with the footage when imported as some of it doesn't change to fit the ratio change and so we are still using creative ways to get around this.

BTS - Photoshoot

Behind the scenes of the photo shoot of shots that will be on the website. We wanted to get a range of angles that can be used on the site in the gallery and profile. We wanted to also use them to promote the band on social medias. The shots will be edited to make them fit more accordingly with the genre. We need to compose a wrap sheet for this shoot.

Problem with ratio
We ran into a problem regarding the editing process on the video. Due to the ratio of the stop motion stills the moving images are the same ratio so we need to find a way to fix this so the the things we record fit with the rest of the things that we have. We have yet to find a way to do this in Premier Pro to fix the problem. We are working on ways around this such as using the shots to appear and play parallel with each other.

New Digipak Flatplan
We change the design of the digipak based on an idea I came up with regarding the song that we were going to do as it is an upbeat song with darker sounding lyrics and the main theme of it being death so with that in mind we redesigned the digipak to fit that as it has more upbeat colours and dark undertones.

Multiple of the same person in one shot
In the video we had an idea to have the character appear multiple times at once. We test shot this and found away to use the editing software to do it. This is the result that we got.
This was the effect that we wanted to achieve and we feel that this would work well in the video that we are doing since its a psychedelic video.

Fake album cover
We made another album cover that isn't our main cover to go on the website as part of the bands discography
![]() |
| I downloaded the brushes of the speech bubble |
![]() |
| Then filled in the background with on of the brushes already on photoshop |
![]() |
| I downloaded the text from Dafont and used it as the main title |
![]() |
| I then added to the background a snow (A downloaded brush) and used to look like stars/stardust to go with the cosmic theme. |
![]() |
| This is the finished product and will go into the website as a previous album the band have created. It makes the band look and feel more real as older music will be "Available". |

Tour dates poster
![]() |
| We started out with a plain slightly colourless poster that didn't really fit with the genre that we are working in. The overall look was too plain had nothing to really make it stand out. |
![]() |
| We then added colour which made it a lot better but the colours obscured the text. |
![]() |
| Our final one made the text clear but obscured the logo. This gives the idea that the music is more important then the band themselves. It puts for the idea that the band comes first. |

Editing progress
At this point in the project we are mostly accumulating footage to go into the video and so this far we have the stop motion of the guitar and some footage of the drum beat but we are planning to get out door footage of Max playing the guitar and lip syncing the words of the song.

psychedelic Website
http://yesworld.com/
Yes is a band that's within the psychedelic rock genre with a fair simple layout and a colour scheme that carries through all the pages which is something that will go into our colour scheme. It will probably also look match the digipak that we create to go with it. We were also thinking of including album covers that weren't apart of the digipak that will go with the video so that the website seems more legitimate.

October 4th 2016 - Filming behind the scenes
Today we filmed drumming which doesn't require people to be in costume. Max (Drumming) of course did the acting, while Jake (filming) and I (photography) composed the shot that would go into the final (maybe, if we don't do reshoots) video. It was a short filming session that took place in a music room which we hadn't originally planned to film in (this is why there is no risk assessment with the others).

Actors/Models
Currently we are only planning to use Max in the video as he looks like a psychedelic artist and is the only one with musical experience in the group. He is not camera shy and knows how to play the song that we are going to do. He doesn't get ill often and will have to be there every time we film.
We have also found a drummer to make that part of the video look more realistic as Max is not a very good drummer.

Stop motion final idea
We are using stop motion at the start of the video. We have already started production and filmed the guitar in stop motion. We were also going to do the drumming in slow motion but after test shots we found that this didn't work well so we decided to film it in the conventional way. We have yet to edit it together.

DigiPak Schedule
When plan to get the digipak done during the first week of November when we know what the tone of the video is going too be. We have a general feel for the tone such as colourful and cheerful at first glance with darker undertones to it as that is what the lyrics within the song suggest which will dictate the colour scheme that we go with which is somethinf we didn't include on the flat plan.
